This is a fabulous piece of work. I’ve always loved the grip design on this longsword of Maximilian (this sword is the focus of one of the chapters in Swords and Swordsmen). I have admired its beauty but one of the great services that modern craftspeople like this do, when they recreate an object, is they help us to see the finished object with greater clarity and understanding as we see all the various stages of manufacture.
